A narrow side compartment runs down one edge, 20 inches long and 4 wide, which is exactly the slot a remote, a phone or a magazine wants and nothing else fits into. The large bottom shelf handles everything bigger, and anti-falling guardrails around both keep contents in place when the table gets knocked. A heavy-duty metal frame holds 176 pounds on the top, and every corner is rounded.
