The first shoe to be released under a Nike and MJ partnership, Jordan Retro 12 maintains signature elements and includes the embroidered leather tongue beloved by sneakerheads the world over. It was during Jordan's late-'90s NBA championship streak that Jordan Retro 12 hit the court and became an instant collector's item. This current iteration is a take on the sneaks Jordan wore during his fifth league title.

The Rising of a Legend
Designed by one of the most talented sneaker designers of the late '80s, Tinker Hatfield, the design for Jordan Retro 12 was inspired by a 19th century fashion shoe named “Nisshoki.” The Jordan Retro 12 takes further inspiration from the Japanese "rising sun" flag motif. They also incorporate design elements inspired by Japanese Zen gardening. Jordan wanted this sneaker to be as unique as possible; instead of the usual Jumpman "23," he had "Two 3" embroidered vertically down the tongue.
