A square canopy covers a square table, which is where an 8-ft by 8-ft offset umbrella beats a round one of the same span: the corners reach the seats instead of leaving them in sun. The double-tier canopy moves air between layers and a top vent bleeds off wind pressure to reduce tipping. Release the locking mechanism and the whole canopy turns 360 degrees to track the sun through the afternoon, while a crank lift opens and closes it smoothly. Eight metal ribs sit in protective pockets that stop the fabric tearing, and the weighted cross base takes two sandbags holding up to 116 lb of sand.
