Thirteen locking positions carry the rim from 4.43 feet up to regulation 10 feet, which means the same pole serves a first-grader and a high-school driveway game. The 38-by-22.5-inch polycarbonate backboard absorbs hard shots, and 2 shock-absorbing springs plus reinforced PE corners take the sting out of dunk attempts. Its HDPE base measures 37.5 by 22 inches and accepts 144.5 pounds of water or 187.5 pounds of sand, with a molded pocket that parks a spare ball instead of leaving it in the grass. A thickened metal pole and bracket set carries the 50-pound system, and the standard 18-inch rim takes any full-size ball. Assembly is required and the finished stand rolls into position before the base is filled. For windy sites an extra 110-pound sand bag can be hung on the frame, although that bag is not included in the carton.
