Mano Amiga

The Plaza Las Américas Foundation and the Plaza Del Caribe Foundation announce the start of the new period to receive requests for donations from non-profit organizations in its 18th edition. This edition presents modifications in the areas of focus and in the application process, with the objective of strengthening the impact of the program, responding to the needs of the communities, and ensuring its alignment with the priorities of both foundations.

The application cycle will be open from March 1 to 31, giving eligible organizations the opportunity to present their proposals within this period. This edition of the Mano Amiga Program is aimed at supporting non-profit entities that provide services in the following areas:

  • Education: Only programs that offer tutoring or supplements to the curriculum in early childhood, vocational and university access, as well as educational programs designed for populations with functional diversity will be evaluated.
  • Arts and Culture: Applications for artistic training programs in music, dance, theater, painting, crafts, and literature will be considered. Initiatives that facilitate sustained access to artistic and cultural activities will also be taken into account.
  • Health: Programs that provide tools and mechanisms to address problems related to chronic diseases in pediatrics and older adults, including cardiovascular conditions, cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's, will be supported. Programs targeting children and youth within the autism spectrum will also be considered.
  • Women's Training: Programs that offer tools for the physical, mental, and emotional safety of survivors of gender violence will be prioritized, as well as initiatives focused on the reintegration of women into the workforce to foster their self-sufficiency.

In addition, as part of the implemented changes, the application process has been optimized to ensure a more efficient and transparent evaluation. Interested organizations must complete a new version of the application form, available on the program platform.

"At the foundations, we reaffirm our commitment to Puerto Rico, providing support to organizations that work tirelessly to improve the quality of life in our communities.
